Yesterday I tried to feed little Ruthie rice cereal for the first time. It was mixed with vast quantities of breast milk, of course, which meant that instead of spitting it outright, Ruu gave me this puzzled little look while trying to suck on the spoon. Today, like yesterday, the feeding went well, but most of it ended up all over her rather than in her, of course.
I'm feeling pretty good about all this. I'm offering her a bottle every day with a little bit of breastmilk in it. She plays with the nipple, and doesn't quite suck it down, but it's better than the screeching that would come previously whenever I didn't give her the breast first.
Step by step, we'll get this!
